Tampa Airports and Airlines
Getting
to and from the Tampa Bay Area couldn't be easier, with three
conveniently
located hubs in the region; Tampa
International Airport (TPA),
St.
Petersburg-Clearwater
International Airport (PIE),
and Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport
(SRQ).
Tampa
International Airport
is of course the major hub in the region, serving approximately 20
million
passengers annually. Airport amenities include free wireless Internet
access, cell phone waiting lot with flight & departure
information, and complimentary first hour of terminal parking. There
are more than 20,000
parking spaces, and long-term passengers can find a good deal on
parking by utilizing the airport's economy lot with free
24-hour shuttle to the terminals. Find out more
by visiting the Tampa
International Airport website. They've even got a page where
you can find out real-time flight
arrival and departure information,
including regularly scheduled flights for airlines and charters.
The page also has a Flight Planner section where you
can search for flights to and from Tampa International Airport
in the next 12 months.
St.
Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport in nearby Pinellas County
is a nice alternative to
reaching Tampa, and there quite a few low-cost airlines and charters
that service
the facility, such as Sunwing Airlines and Allegiant Air.
Although seasonal, many carriers offer service between St.
Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport and various Canadian destinations. Check
out the St. Petersburg-Clearwater
International Airport website for
further details.
About 65 miles from Downtown Tampa is Sarasota-Bradenton
International Airport in
Sarasota
Florida. It
is the smaller of the three airports, but it's adding more commercial
flights all the time. Although it's not right around the
corner from Tampa, it's a convenient airport to fly
into then drive out of, so it's worth looking into as a backup airport.
Visit Sarasota-Bradenton
International Airport to
learn more about this air
facility.
When planning a
trip
to the Tampa Bay Area, keep in mind that most flights between
November to
March fill up months in advance. If you are looking
to come here
during this time frame, we recommend arranging your air travel as far
in advance as possible. It will give you and those traveling
with you
the piece of mind in knowing your seats to sunny Sarasota are
secure and reserved. Plus, when you book ahead,
you might be able to
get a really great deal on your tickets!
