Performing Arts

The Tampa Bay Area has an amazingly strong and vital cultural base, and there are quite a few local performing arts venues and organizations for you to enjoy throughout the year.

Located on the east bank of the Hillsborough River, The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center is not only home to the highly talented Opera Tampa, but also to many other wonderful living arts events throughout the year.  There are many components to this grand facility: The Carol Morsani Hall that seats 2,610 patrons; Louise Lykes Ferguson Hall with its 1,042 seats; 268-seat Jaeb Theater; 130-seat Hinks and Elaine Shimberg Playhouse; 3,500-square-foot, 250-seat TECO Energy Foundation Theatre and lastly a well-appointed Rehearsal Hall.  Space within the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center is utilized not only for Performing Arts events, but also for hosting special meetings, luncheons and banquets.

The Patel Conservatory is situated alongside the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, and it's mission is to offer the Tampa Bay community the finest in performing arts training and education while building its appreciation for all performing arts mediums.

As far as theatrical performances go, entertaining Off Broadway shows can be seen year in, year out via the Gorilla Theatre on North Hubert Avenue, Stageworks Theatre, and American Stage Theatre Company in St. Petersburg

Concerts from a myriad of musical genres are always on tap at the Ford Amphitheatre, University of South Florida Sun Dome, and St. Pete Times Forum in the Channelside district.

There are annual festivals in Tampa Bay that are certainly worth checking out.
